from United States on 10/09/2014 - Excellent "Not Cutsie" Design, But Graph Threatens Eye Strain
I really appreciate the traditional sampler styling of this pattern, and will display it year-round. However, I do find that the graphing is scaled rather small and will need to be copied/enlarged for ease of use. I haven't started stitching this one yet, but I'm looking forward to pairing it with another recently purchased Halloween-themed sampler, Blackbird Designs' "Away We Ride", which I'm currently stitching. I hope the DMC conversions for the Shakespeare's Peddler pattern ARE as well-matched as another customer states, because for "Away We Ride" I've had to return to my thread boxes time and again to reconsider the shades I'm mixing and/or scattering to approximate the hand-dyed threads called for. The solids and mixes as converted do not come close to reflecting the subtler tones achieved on the model with the hand-dyed versions, and that's a very large part of its charm.

I'm stitching this pattern now and enjoying it very much. I'm using the DMC threads instead of the sampler threads and it is turning out great. The DMC colors are vivid and make this sampler come alive with the perfectly matched floss colors.
