Simple to stitch, but with such a lovely, modern look. So striking!

Thanks to Pinterest, I have discovered Charley Harper. His appeal for me is how his genius eyes translated clever and frisky animals into solid, colorful shapes with fun captions as explanation. Losing a bit in the further translation of Harper art into counted cross stitch means there are vast, boring stretches of stitches. Not so with Blackbeary Jam because of its canvas of black aida cloth. While such dark cloth necessitates daylight to see the holes, it also means less stitching. It's almost a puzzle that comes alive at your fingertips - handsome bears, happily munching berries that are rendered in neon bright colors.

I was disappointed that this was a photocopy - albeit a good one - rather than a chart. Not for copyright reasons, but because I was hoping to replace the actual chart that I had lost.
