This quilt was inspired by one of the beautiful quilts from the Infinite Variety - Red and White Quilts exhibition. While the original quilt was white applique on a red background, this version plays with a scrappier variety of fabrics and a little version as well! medium 50" x 50", little/mini 28" x 28"
Of all the places to be inspired for a quilt design... this one started on the floor... literally. It was inspired by a photo I took of a floor tile in the England. I just love the options it provides... it can be scrappy, it can be made with solids, it can be masculine or feminine - depending on the fabrics chosen... the options are endless! 58" x 58", 44" x 44"
A delightful quilt based on a traditional design called an Irish Chain Variation'. This version is wonderfully scrappy (but also looks wonderful as a two color quilt!) I have named it after a sweet little Irish/American lass named Ciara (which is a Gaelic name - pronounced Keer-ah'). A sweet name for a sweet girl and a sweet quilt! Finished size either 54" x 65" or 27" x 33"./
Inspired by a vintage quilt - I wanted to make my version of this classic star quilt in two of my favorite ways... one scrappy, and one with a gingham design. So, here they are... and even better - this version has been simplified and is made with half-square triangle units and no Y-seams! 68" x 68"
Lori Holt's new book, Scrappiness is Happiness, reminds us that we can create beautiful quilts from our own scrap baskets. In this book she shares 32 scrappy quilts that show h ow beautifully your stash can blend together.
