Super easy to use, spring tension hoops eliminate the need to tighten tiny screws. Lay your fabric over the outer hoop, give the inner hoop a squeeze and gently set it inside the inner hoop. Low profile also very useful for those doing free-hand embroidery and applique with the machine as this hoop fits nicely under the feeddogs.

on 04/01/2019 - Spring tension hoop
I was very disappointed with this hoop. I have a smaller one that was made in West Germany. Excellent hoop, no need to keep adjusting the fabric when embroidering or cross stitching. This one, I cannot use. Does not keep the fabric taut. This one is made in Taiwan. Very frustrating to use. Will be using the one made in West Germany, even tho it is smaller.123 Stitch is a great website and I have bought from them many times. This is the first time I was disappointed.
on 01/16/2019 - Best size 7 inches.
I have a larger size Darice Tension Hoop, I like it too, I wanted a smaller size to work with. The 7 inch works well in my hand for my cross stitch project. Keeps the tension firm, easy to adjust.
on 07/12/2017 - works great!
on 04/12/2017 - Awesome!
I love these but wished they came in more than just two sizes.
on 01/10/2017 - Spring tension Hoop
This is a great hoop to use when placing beads onto a needlework project. Hold the material tight enough but doesn't break any beads that are already placed into the project.
I have only used the inch hoop but on recommendation of a floss tube person I currently am using it on my current project and I am Hooked! It holds the material taut and there is not any need to readjust the hoop until it is time to move on to the next portion to be stitched. I don'the think I I'll use any other hoop or frame.
on 09/10/2016 - Spring 7" Hoop
I love this hoop I had ordered the 5" hoop earlier this year it was a little small for me so I ordered this 7" hoop and it was just perfect and I love the way this hoop holds the cloth while cross stitching--and did I mention this is the best shop with such fast and courteous service love them so much will always order from them
on 09/23/2015 - does not hold fabric tight
It's very very bad hoop. I have the same hoop in smaller size. that works well but this one doesn't hold fabric tight at all. Every time I tighten my fabric but after 3-4 stitches it gets loose.Don't recommend this hoop to anyone. Just a waste of money.
on 08/03/2015 - Great with a couple caveats
I like spring hoops even though they do tend to mark the fabric with hoop rings. They do not pull the fabric or stitching out of shape - nor do they stress the finished stitching.. This 7" hoop is larger than a very old 5" I have been using. 1. I did open the wire to increase the tension. The wire - probably due to the larger diameter was a initially a little loose.2. I found that working it reversed spring on top was easier for inserting and dramatically reduced popping.3. Having the "squeezer" at somewhere between 200 and 300 gave me absolutely no tangling when stitching 2 handed.I will say that for tired eyes - which is when I use a Flexilens 18-inch Clip-on Craft Magnifier- I prefer the Susan Bates Hoop-La because I can clip the magnifier over the screw part. A clip on magnifier doesn't work with this hoop.I prefer hoops lately. I used to use scroll frames- which I still like for back stitching. I was a q-snap lover for years but now find them heavy to hold. I still use a large size for finishing when I am not bothering with scroll frames
on 08/26/2014 - Hoops have no tension
I called and specifically asked if your hoops had the added tension bar and was told yes. They do not and returned what I ordered. Don't know what these hoops are intended for but they do not hold fabric taut without the added tension bar.
I love this hoop. My other wooden hoops kept cracking.
on 06/01/2014 - Hoop not snug
Wanted a larger hoop. This did not hold fabric tight. As I stitched fabric loosened. I have a smaller tension hoop that works very well. Tension on this one not good enough.

on 09/27/2013 - 7 " spring hoop
The worst hoop I have ever used. A waste of money. Does not hold at all.
