Without these handy bags, I’d have a real mess on my hands! I have used them for years. Very economical way to store floss. I organize mine by number so I can easily go through the called for list of floss on the pattern & pull what I need or start an ordering list for 123 Stitch.

These bags are not 3”x5” as stated in the write up; bags are 5”x3”. Very disappointed with this purchase; did not return the bags. It was not worth the time and hassle to return.

I love the convenience of Floss-A-Way bags. All of my threads stay clean and organized as I can store lengths of thread along with the original skein. This makes it so easy during and upon completion of my project to store my threads away. To no surprise, 123 Stitch carries them at the best price I have found so far.

from United States on 10/21/2021 - Thread Storage Bags
This is the best product I have found when I am working on a large cross stitch project. One project could have 90 to 100 different colors. I have the bags numbered on a big ring and I find it much easier than a storage box. I luv them!

from United States on 05/20/2021 - Perfect for floss for a project using approximately 100 colors.
Floss on bobbins and a ring are too bulky when rhere are a lot of colors. The bags fit on a ring and are less bulky.

I love these bags, been using them for years to hold my DMC floss. I try to use all the remaining small pieces that I can and stowing them in the bags keep them handy when needed.

from United States on 10/30/2019 - awesome
Love these bags for storing all your floss needs. Small white block on front to mark the color. Hole in the top makes it easier to put a ring through so each project can easily have the color you need. I ring all the numbers together making finding what I need super easy, all ringed groups in a basket. Perfect! Only bags I'll use!

from United States on 10/17/2019 - Great way to store floss
I used these 30 years ago when I was doing a lot of embroidery. I don't like the bobbins because I found that if wound too tightly it produced weak spots in the floss. Now I have enough bags to get all my threads organized.

from United States on 10/07/2019 - Good quality
These are good quality. However, I will not buy them again. I don't really use the hole-punched feature to ring them, so I'll stick with regular clear bags.

from United States on 08/30/2019 - I love this simple way of organizing floss.
I love this -- it's so simple and useful and relatively inexpensive. I can organize the threads numerically and re-use the bags by pasting on cut-up sticky labels. I use pipe cleaners to thread the bags together and multiple pipe cleaners for a long ring.

Would like to have the hole at the bottom corner instead of the top where it closes.

from United States on 03/14/2019 - Simple, Cheap DMC Floss Storage!
Love Floss-A-Way 100 Bags because they are simple and cheap. Once I found out how to properly remove DMC cotton floss from the main skein by KEEPING THE BANDS ON & PULLING OUT ONE END OF THE SKEIN, these bags keep floss organized and tangle-free! Just use a Sharpie/permanent marker to label the bags with the color number.I purchase metal 3" diam. bobbin rings to hold and organize the bags the bags have a hole in the corner for such a purpose. However, as a precaution to prolong the integrity of the holes prevent the plastic from tearing and to further organize the colors, I use plastic knitting/crochet locking stitch markers. I thread the bags of colors for specific projects on to separate markers, then close the marker clips and put the markers on the 3" diameter metal bobbin rings. So far the bags have held up well I transfer them from tote to tote constantly and proved sturdy. Plus, closing the bags is relatively easy, and they remain sealed!!

from United States on 01/30/2019 - Floss-Away baggies are the best!
I have been looking for this product for quite a while. Couldn't find it at Michaels, Joann's or A. C. Moore. I finally decided to try 123Stitch.com, and voila! Anyway, the baggies are sturdy, yet inexpensive, so are perfect for storing floss without need of winding it on cardboard.

from United States on 01/18/2019 - Love these little bags
Yes, I know there are other ways to separate and store the threads. I've used these forever, though, and have found them to work very nicely. Keeping my thread stash uniform and tidy helps threads to last longer.

from United States on 01/18/2019 - Econo Bags
These are the best!! No more wrapping bobbins and the threads stay nice and dont get fuzzy from rubbing against each other! Highly recommend!

from United States on 12/22/2018 - Love these bags
I love these bags. They ziplock and are big enough for floss/threads but small enough to travel. They have a punched hole to put on a ring and is in the reinforced part of the bag so there is no tear through. All my floss are in these bags. Keeps your floss together and clean. Worth the money.

from United States on 12/12/2018 - Fancy Flosses
I use these for all of my fancy flosses. I put an index card in with the floss to stabilize the bag a little more when storing in my boxes.

from United States on 07/13/2018 - JUST WONDERFUL
These are the best!!!! No more wrapping bobbins! So easy and I feel like they keep your threads nicer because they are not rubbing against all of the other threads. I'm on my 2nd bag and I will keep buying them. Wonderful product!

from United States on 06/26/2018 - Really Useful
I love these bags! I have reorganized my floss. Rewound my floss like it came in the first place. Took some time, but is much better for me now. I would recommend these bags. I thought I would need more....but I have some left over. If the colors are one or two numbers apart, I put them in the same bag and wrote the numbers on the outside of the bag.

from United States on 05/02/2018 - Great thread/floss bags
Love these little bags for keeping floss and threads clean and organized. They have a hole punched in the corner, so the bags can be threaded on a ring to keep all the threads for a project together.

from United States on 07/19/2017 - Storage Bags for Embroidery Threads
I've been using Floss-A-Way plastic bags for years!! I love this product.

from United States on 07/18/2017 - Throw away those bobbins!
Yes, it takes a moment to label the bags use a Sharpie, but much less time than winding the bobbins--even if you use a wonder. I find that the crimes in floss from a bobbin-stored floss knots on itself much more frequently. Tip in addition to the number and name of the floss, I add the graph symbol. One project I did using these bags had 97 colors, using numerals, upper and lower case letters and symbols like , , , , etc. I separated them on three rings.

These are the only brand that I use for storing my DMC - I put up to three in it. If it's more than that, then I use a food storage baggie.

from United States on 07/13/2016 - Ways with floss
I love these for sorting floss for a project. They keep the thread clean and neat even the partially used pieces. They keep my cats out of trouble too.

from United States on 11/14/2015 - Best storage
I keep all my floss in these bags and when i need several for a project, they are easy to find. Plus, i can put the small pieces in the bag, so when i occasionally need just a bit more, i have it.

from United States on 10/08/2015 - Its in the Bag
The Floss-A-Way bags are the best! I bought a lesser brand one time and they would never zip up! These are the only ones I will buy forever! thanks

from United States on 09/14/2015 - Great Way to Organize
I've used these bags for years and find this system the best way for me to organize my floss. Writing the number on the bag, then putting bags on rings by number or color family works great. And I can pull just what I need for a specific project and put them on a smaller ring. Perfect!

from United States on 08/27/2015 - Floss-A-Way
I use these for my overdyed flosses and they work great. No rewinding on bobbins and they're easy to store in smaller containers. They're a great addition to my supplies.

from United States on 05/30/2015 - Floss-A-Way
It's the easiest way to store floss for all my cross stitch projects.

from United States on 05/12/2015 - Forget Bobbins
I will never ever use bobbins again. These bags are my favorite way to store and organize floss. When using bobbins, my thread would end up with kinks as it wrapped around, and these kinks always resulted in tangles. Also, wrapping thread around bobbins seemed to flatten the thread, resulting in some colors not covering well. By using the bags, the thread stays in much better shape and holds up nicely. Also, I can store left over bits and strands without having to wrap and crush them on bobbins. The only con is that they take up more storage room than bobbins, but the pros so vastly outweigh the one and only con.

from United States on 05/01/2015 - Floss Away
This I find is the very best way to organize my cross stitch floss. I number each one according to it's color number. Then I put all the 100's on one large metal hoop. Then the 200's, 300's etc. All I need to do when getting threads together for a project is pull out the hoops, and all are in numerical order, and pull out the colors I need. I also put the Floss Away bags in numerical order on the hoop which holds all the colors I need for my project. I've used this method for over 40 years and I think it's the best way to approach my projects. I have used hundreds of those bags over the years!

from United States on 03/08/2015 - Great Organizer
These Floss-a-Way bags are great for storing threads. No more tangling or rewinding of loose pieces of thread. Just throw them in bag and they're ready whenever you are. A truly neat way to keep your project threads organized.

from United States on 02/25/2015 - Floss-A-Way
I love using these. It is easy to see the colors and store the threads. If you have 4 strands out of the 6 left you just put them in the bag. Much easier than winding it around the bobbins.

from United States on 02/23/2015 - My Favorite Floss Storage
I have tried different ways to store my floss but this is by far the easiest for me. I use the rings for a project and put my floss back in the bag when I remove the strands. The only downfall is I cannot find a perfect storage holder for the floss that I am not using in the bags. Floss-a-way used to offer a cardboard holder for your floss-a-way bags in the 80s or 90s. I still have and use but it will not hold all my floss. Still looking for a storage system for by bags.

from United States on 02/14/2015 - Best and easiest storage
This is the best method of storing floss. No kinks from being wrapped around a card and pieces can be just dropped into the bag until I need them. I love them.

from United States on 12/29/2014 - Floss Bags

from United States on 11/25/2014 - Floss-A-Way Bags
I love these bags to store floss in. It is so much easier to drop floss in a bag than wind it on a bobbin. All the short pieces can be dropped right in the bag until you use them. I will always use Floss-A-Way bags. They were a really good price for the 100 bags.

from United States on 02/03/2014 - My favorite way to store threads
Have used these for as long as I can remember. Back in the good old 80's when counted cross stitch was on a roll. I keep them numerically on several of the large rings. Also use them for beads and silks and overdyed threads and perle cottons and on and on. They are great! Bobbins just never appealed to me.

from United States on 01/06/2014 - The best bags
I have several kinds of bags for my floss but we are changing all of them to these bags. They are strong and durable and a perfect size for our stash.

from United States on 01/06/2014 - Inferior
Don't like 'em. Not sure what the brand is that I've been using for years, but the Floss-A-Way bags only have one hole punched for use with rings, and it's on the same edge as where you open the bag to put the skein of floss in. That means you have to manage to keep the other bags on the ring out of the way while you open the Floss-A-Way bag. In addition, if you have collected several skeins of the same color and inventory them in the same bag, opening and closing it with a ring in the hole can get complicated because the bag can't open all the way. The bags I prefer have two holes punched along the sealed side opposite the gripper opening, which means you can open the bag fully for storing multiple skeins, and use either one or two rings to hold your supplies. Since the bags on the two-ring system essentially form a "bound" book, it's much easier for floss storage and retrieval. With Floss-A-Way bags I have to punch holes in each bag to be able to use a two-ring system, time consuming and difficult to punch holes in clear plastic, and if you tried to use a two-ring system you would barely be able to open the bag at all, besides the necessity of having to punch a second hole. They do get points for realizing that the gripper edge should have one edge wider than the other for easy opening, which the manufacturer of the bags I prefer hasn't figured out yet, but it's a lot easier to just cut down one edge of a gripper bag than to try to set up where to punch holes in a clear bag that you've now got three holes in.

from United States on 12/17/2013 - Floss-A-Way Bags
I have used floss-a-way bags for over 20 years and am totally satisfied with them. I love needlework of all kinds and am always looking for ways to efficiently store my threads and yarns. Floss-A-Way Bags help me to keep my DMC the thread I prefer neatly stored in my floss-a-way thread boxes. I have every color and type of thread which DMC manufactures and find that I can easily remove a bags from the thread box and with a 1 1/2 - 3 inch ring can organize the colors I need for a specific project. The colors are right there and I don't have to worry about the threads becoming tangled amongst themselves. The white area on the bag allows me to write the manufacturer's name and the color number of the thread on each bag and neatly store them and remove them from the box in numerical sequence. There is no craft store near my home, so when I found that I could order them on-line and in an economical pack of 100, I was delighted.Carolyn McVicker, Rabun County, Georgia
