The Putty Linen I received is so much darker than the photo on 123 shows I am disappointed, as my stitching barely shows up. I may discontinue stitching, even though I have already many hours spent on this pattern, so that I can order a lighter-colored fabric. I do NOT recommend ordering the Putty Linen connected with this pattern. I LOVE the pattern and the Valdani thread.DCGranny in Dodge City

This is an interesting pattern that looks nice on Heritage Aida fabric. It DEFINITELY NEEDS TWO skeins of Valdani thread, though. One only does a little over half of the pattern.

I really love this pattern and plan to stitch it many times. I purchased also the recommended thread and it is very nice too. I also plan to use this pattern all in black thread but using over dyed material some time in the future - it should look stunning. I am already half-way through it I started stitching it the day I got it in the mail -- and I have dozens of other projects I should be working on.

I purchased the specific thread mentioned on this pattern and am so happy I did. My needlework looks just exactly like this photo and I am looking forward to framing it soon. I have recently turned to stitching with the variegated flosses and love the look, even though I've had to change the way I stitich one "x" at a time to achieve the look. Fun to stitch, well priced even when not on sale. The floss costs more than DMC but WELL WORTH the extra $.
