Anchor 403 Black is fabulous. When you stitch with it you get solid black coverage without white showing through(unless you pull your stitches REALLY TIGHT). I have stitched with Anchor threads for over 20 years and love it. Even people who stitch with DMC stitch with Anchor 403 Black and love it.

Yep...I was not happy with DMC thread at all. The coverage was bad but even after three or four stitches, the thread got thinner and thinner..............then I heard about Anchor black 403 and it is beautiful!!!!!! Tje color of the fabric does not come through. I have loads of black DMC 310 but plan to use it on cmaller count fabrics like 10 and 7 by doubliing it up to three or four strands!!!!

I ordered a large amount of this floss to complete a Ronnie Rowe pen and ink design using only black floss. I had heard several Flosstubers comment that Anchor covers better than DMC. I have been very happy with this floss. My project is on the called for 18 count Aida, and the coverage is excellent. I'm happy with my choice.

Im using Anchor black floss 403? for a silhouette type design, Moon Light Witch by Dames of the Needle. It gives excellent color in the Carrot linen that Im using.
