The Ukrainian Tulips cross stitch folk embroidery kit is a lavish geometric border design in the great tradition of Ukrainian folk embroidery, where simple elements combine and repeat to create something genuinely intricate and beautiful. Traditionally worked in high contrast red, green, and orange,
I reimagined this in a warmer, more saturated palette of ruby, dark turquoise, blue-green, golden olive, and deep grey that coordinates beautifully with modern home interiors. The result feels both deeply traditional and completely contemporary. The vintage embroidery I used as inspiration was found by a friend at a thrift shop for a few dollars and I like to think we've saved this design for the next generation!
