Cross stitch pattern from Chessie & Me featuring a lovely vintage needlebook sampler with a deer!
Pattern is stitched on 36 ct linen (and 1283HT Wool from Weeks Dye Works not listed)using Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works threads.

Collected from German, Italian, Scottish, Dutch, English, and American samplers, this book of alphabets takes off from where the previous edition, Alphabets from Early Samplers, ends. The alphabets have been fastidiously reproduced from samplers dating from 1530, to 1868. Over 80 alphabets are charted, as well as two complete alphabet samplers, one of them dating from 1725.
This antique sampler is inspired by a french designer with Christian imagery.
The model was stitched on 36 count Summer Khaki linen from Zweigart, with 1 ply of Weeks Dye Works Hand Dyed Cottons. Stitch count is 260 x 171 with a finished size of 14.44" x 9.5".
Note from the designer: It started with the request to teach at Shepherd's Bush and the theme was garden. My brain went to our love of samplers and flowers. I envisioned alphabets dancing in the garden. There will be one for each season for a total of four different charts.
From the Animal Alphabet Series comes an excited little otter, very happy to join her friends. Stitched on 26 count Traditional Groundcloth she has a stitch count of 65 x 65 and is stitched using DMC floss. Finished size is 5" x 5".
A banner from Needlework Press featuring alphabets! Model was stitched on 40 count Paperbark hand dyed linen from Fox & Rabbit and stitched with silks from Soie 100/3. DMC conversion is included in the chart. Stitch count is 436 x 40. Finished size is 21.8" x 2".
