I have started using floche instead of cotton stranded for some 28 and 32 ct fabrics. Only need one strand for fantastic coverage. It is a much softer fiber than the stranded cotton so it "spreads" and fills the space. Much more expensive than cotton skeins but I get so much more fiber 168 yards versus the 27 yards in a skein and stitching with one thread instead of two makes it an economical purchase.
