This is DMC pearl cotton and lovely of course. I use it mainly for tatting and swedish weaving on aida cloth. I love the reasonable price. It's hard to say anything bad about DMC products. You always get the quality you expect.

I've just started embroidering again after a 50 year hiatus I embroidered pillowcases and tea towels with my grandmother as a young girl. I remember using regular cross stitch thread. After a quick search online of embroidery tips/techniques I noticed that several stitchers were using the 8 pearl cotton. I ordered a few balls to see if I would like it and I loved it! I like how it gives more definition - stands out. I was pleasantly surprised how much I could stitch with one ball.
