on 05/18/2017 - DMC Tapestry Needles Size 28
I bought these needles for cross stitch on 22 ct aida or hardanger, using 2 over 1. I do use a needle threader and it can get a bit tight with the eyes of these, but it's a lot easier than me trying to fiddle with it and do it on my own. Overall, they slide easily and I haven't destroyed too many yet -- I seem to have very caustic skin that eats needles, even gold-plated ones, but these are holding up better than most. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is a lack of consistent quality. I'm doing a huge cross-stitch project and ordered quite a few packages of needles. Some of the needles are longer than others and I can't figure out why, but those are also a bit more substantial and don't seem as fine and easy to pull through the holes either. Some of the needles also seem a bit flimsy, especially around the eyes, and have bent even though they aren't under any strain. It's very inconsistent but worth noting. I do love working with size 28 needles though and think I'll continue with using them even on projects with larger counts.
on 12/01/2016 - I'm in love with Size 28!
I don't enjoy stitching with larger needles regardless of what size I'm working on. I've been super happy with this first set I got. I will be getting more. Warning though...they are pretty small. Not hard for me to thread or anything, but you do have to keep an eye out for them!
on 03/31/2016 - Short little things...
I'm working with 18 count, so this gauge is great, and they thread decently, but they're so short,I have trouble handling them. I ended up going to the store to get 24s. I do keep one 28 handy for certain things the 24 can't handle well.
on 09/16/2015 - Good needles
I needed small needles to work on dollhouse projects. These are very nice and don't stretch out the holes.
on 01/07/2015 - Valuable for 18 count
I have never used size 28 needles before. I love them. They are the best for 18 count, they don't get stuck slide right through no problems. I thought they would be hard to thread but they aren't. I bought 2 packs to try and then ordered 10 more for my new project and the price isn't bad either.
on 11/09/2014 - Size 28 DMC Needles
This is my favorite size and I love when I find them on sale at 123 Stitch. However, I have noticed that DMC has shortened the length of the needles without lowering the price. That seems to the be the way of the world - as in a half gallon of ice cream is now 3 quarts. I'm just saying .........
