I hate to throw out scissors because they become dull. I cannot find a professional to sharpen them. I used this sharpener on some cheap and on some expensive scissors I had. They worked perfectly. I was amazed at the ease in using the sharpener. I have arthritis in my hands and had no problem getting a beautiful edge on all my old scissors.
