While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

My husband put it on a mini easel stand with a little miniature light he found on the internet to show off the beautiful colors pf the beads. It was hard to give away but the joy and excitement she felt when she received it made it a special memory.

from United States on 04/04/2014 - Much better looking than the picture I have probably made this 5 times. I can buy the paper, thread and beads separately but not the charms. Why can't you buy the charms for this one and the other 5 in the series?

It turned out beautifully but I would suggest that is not for a beginning stitcher because of all the areas of 1-3 stitch same color groupings scattered over the pattern and same with the bead placements. Also the swag instructions on the pattern are not accurate, you have to go by the picture and experience to make the swags
