While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:

1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.

2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.

3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.

All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

A very nice small project to try beading on perforated paper. The instructions are clear and understandable. The beads do need sorting prior to use. Fun project.

This is my second July 4th, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day star. I gave the first one away but I decided I needed one of my own. Easy to make and looks great!

It was interesting to do an all bead ornament. It was quick and easy to do and came out beautifully. I like that it sparkles and will use it as a decoration for July 4th, Memorial Day etc.

Great star pattern and kit for the patriotic, but I especially ordered it to make my own Christmas tree star -- a little one to go on the small tree I decorate with my own stitched and hand-made ornaments... Time for a STAR!!!
