While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from Canada on 06/15/2023 - Daisy Wonderful little kit. Step by step instructions with ample supplies in order to complete this.A little tricky to get the petals to lay properly but it does give it a more dramatic effect. Wish there was a whole series of flowers like this.
from United States on 11/30/2018 - Fun little project These Mill Hill kits are wonderful small projects. The instructions are clear, the materials are of good quality, and the finished product always looks nice. I was able to stitch this daisy over a weekend as a gift for a co-worker.
from United States on 05/06/2017 - Beautiful I loved doing this cross stitch. It was a little difficult but I took onestep at a time as I worked the stitches and it made sense. The stitch tosecure the petals was a difficult one. I am not sure I did it right butit turned out great. The lady bug was hard to get it straight also.
