This is a large, decorative, and versatile design: stitchers have the option to either stitch the positive (pattern) space, or the negative space. Within that, they can either stitch with light floss on dark material, or the other way round. They can even opt for full cover, by stitching the background monochrome and then color in the design itself. Both the negative and positive space have just under 80.000 crosses

The cover image was envisioned by only stitching the black square symbols with light floss on a dark background. Both symbols have roughly the same number of stitches (just under 80.000). If you were to work it on 32-count linen with 2 pulled strands over 2, you would require a minimum of 40 hanks of DMC or similar 8-metre floss of either colour. Many beautiful hand-dyed flosses come in 8-yard lengths, which means you will need approximately 45 of those. Working on finer linens with one strand will significantly reduce the amount of floss required. Stitch count is 353w x 451h.
