Hand washable, but test first. Silk and metallic braided together, in a Petite size which is perfect for 18 mesh canvas. Great for open background stitches where you want the painted canvas to show also perfect for intricate shaded canvases. Can also work for lighter coverage for larger mesh canvases. With a wide range of colors Silk Lame Petite makes and excellent thread for beading. |

I used this to make a needlepoint design that was a large star pattern. The instructions wanted me to use a piece of braid 45" long so the entire design in the middle could be stitched with one piece of thread. I never worked with something that long before. I was happy that it was easy to manipulate and my piece turned out stunning. I plan to make several more of the same design using different colored backgrounds and braids.
