Let's get groovy! These fab feathered friends are easy to make with just a few straight seams and they make gorgeous pincushions, pattern weights, or sachets. Pattern includes three charts, plus illustrated step-by-step instructions and templates for felt accents.

Stitch counts are 100 W x 50 H. Finished size for Chicks are 3.25" x 3.25" x 3.25" finished on 14 count.

Green chick shown stitched on Wichelt's 28 count linen in tropical green.

Pink chick shown stitched on Zweigart's 28 count linen in Baby Pink.

Blue chick shown switched on Zweigart's 28 count linen in ice blue.

Also needed Wool felt from Prairie Woolens in the colors Smoke, Mint Leaf, Chartreuse, Shocking Pink, Caribbean Coral, Tropical Wave and Periwinkle. A 3" x 4" piece of each color is recommended.

Definitely a fun counted cross stitch pattern. Yes, a beginner with patience could do the project, just be sure to "count" correctly as there are a lot of color changes in specific spots of the chicken, Remember the chicken all comes together when you seam the bottom of the chicken after you have stitched the entire body. Like a puzzle until chicken parts come together. I made the green chicken and cannot wait to stitch #2 funky chicken. Making for gifts!

I'm not a chicken fan, but these birds were SO whacky and cute I had to buy the pattern. The chart is clear with no hard symbols to figure out. The instructions for construction (which I have not done yet) look clear and step-by-step so I think I'll get a great result. THANK YOU!
