The thread I received was far darker than the photo and also included brown in the variegation. Not like any tin bucket I have ever seen. I don’t think it will work with the pattern now. I really wish GAST would stop cutting their thread into pieces. Makes for more waste and forget about being able to use it for cording.

I have stitched with sampler threads for many years, and they are still my favorite. There have been issues with the dye lots in all the overdyed cotton brands and while they can be drastically different at times, I find sampler threads always look good. Grab them if you can while 123Stitch still has the good price. More expensive everywhere else I looked.

Sampler threads can differ quite substantially from batch to batch. In Blackbird Design patterns this comes out as a very dark grey blue but this one purchased stitches almost as a solid very dark grey. Not as pretty but what to do.
