Winifred M Webb 1869 is a reproduction of a 19th century cross stitch sampler from the private collection of Whilst Iris Naps Designs.
The stitch count is 87 x 82 and our model is stitched using 1 strand floss over 2 linen threads on 40ct 'Gray' by Weeks Dye Works. We have used Au Ver Soie, Soie d'Alger silk thread for our reproduction but we also include a DMC conversion if you want to match either our red or the red of the original sampler. The design area on 40ct fabric measures approximately 4 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches (11.2 x 10.5 cm). The pattern is all standard cross stitch over 2 linen threads and so is suitable for stitching on linen or Aida.

Model was stitched on 52/60 Ct. Sycamore Seedpod linen by Legacy Linen, using Soie Surfine 2681. You can use whatever fabric you prefer, with whatever shade of red you'd like! Stitched on 36 ct Sanguine from Weeks Dye Works with one ply of sampler threads from the Gentle Art. Stitch count is 189 x 273 and the finished size is 10.5" x 15.17".

This is a revised version of an old design (#113). The original 2015 design has been out of print and I decided to rework it. JABC buttons are included. A cardinal is perched atop a basket of winterberry leaves berries.
