The Carpathian Bluebells cross stitch folk embroidery cross stitch pattern centers on a classic eight-petal flower, a motif that turns up across folk embroidery traditions from the Balkans to the British Isles, and never loses its appeal. This version originated in Ukrainian folk embroidery and I've reimagined it in a multi-colored palette that feels both traditional and fresh. The Mikini fabric is a joy to stitch for its crisp thread definition.

A relatively compact design, it stitches up into a lovely narrow table runner - the kind of piece that looks beautiful in a small space and makes a wonderful first folk embroidery project.

Stitched on 30 ct. Cotton Mikini fabric with DMC floss. The stitch count is 107 x 197 and the finished size is 6 3/4" x 12 1/8".
