Effective for many tasks: focusing at an intermediate distance (such as needlework), viewing close-up (such as needle tatting or taking out a splinter) and working or reading outdoors for non-glasses wearers who want a little more magnification. Also supplements the work bi-focal and tri-focal glasses are doing. People may choose to have several pairs, depending on the distance with which the they want to work the task at hand. Clip is positionable. Rubber pads prevent harm to the surface of the wearer's glasses.

The plus side is they do magnify. A big negative is that the clip that holds them onto my glasses is so big that the lenses hang below my prescription lenses. These would work only if someone had large frames like the old days . Most prescription frames now are much more streamlined.

I have tried a dozen different types of magnifying glasses. These are by far the best. They clip on snuggly to my glasses and are not too heavy so they don't weigh my glasses down. A great product.

I have been using these at work for about ten years. I drill a small hole on the bridge of my safety glasses and use a small tie-wrap to prevent them from falling off otherwise they get pulled or knocked off and end up stepping on them. My old pair lenses supports wore out so much that the lenses were loose and didn't aligh with my eyes so i just replaced them. The old style had a good spring on it that popped it right up with a mere push. It was convenient but i think the snapping up against my helmet might have contributed to the wear of the lens supports. I will have to see if they consistently stay up over the years or start dropping down due to lack of the spring.
