While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from United States on 03/18/2020 - Cozy In I am enjoying working on Cozy In with its unique look. My only problem is getting the different shades of thread correct. This happens to me a lot with other kits as well since I don't have the best eye for variations. It would sure help if the threads were separated as the beads are. But I have never been disappointed in any of the Mill Hill kits that I've completed.
This design by Val's Stuff features a portrait of a cat in front of seasonal backgrounds for spring, summer, fall, and winter. You can choose a gray and white cat or a black and white cat!
This kit includes everything you will need except for the needle and DMC thread.
