While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from New Zealand on 12/09/2023 - Incorrect floss Kit was missing the brown floss required for the hair. It contained 3 shades of blue floss, but only 2 are charted.
A magnet was supplied, not a pin.
Top wing is charted as part of design and again separately with instructions to tack on. Not very clear.
from United States on 08/03/2018 - pretty pretty, small, but easy to do. Pattern confusing though. Gives you location to do the wing, but gives you directions to do wing on pattern with the angle. Don't know it I was to do the wing on the angle or if I was to do the extra wing and put on. Directions don't tell you. I put worst review due to confusion.

from United States on 11/27/2013 - Stunning Angel Pin This kit was easy to follow, not too difficult, and a beautiful end product. The material sent was more than enough to make the pin. Only negative comment is that it came with magnet instead of a pin back. Can definitely doing something like this again.
