While we still have kits in stock with Perforated Paper, newer Mill Hill kits are now being made with Perforated PVC. We were skeptical at first, but here's what our testing has revealed so far:
1. Perforated PVC looks and feels nearly identical to perforated paper, and nothing like plastic canvas. It's sturdy and easy to hold, and is slightly harder to bend.
2. Our needle and thread glide just as smoothly through the new PVC as they do through paper, and finished stitches on both materials look nearly identical.
3. The new PVC is some sturdy stuff. It's much harder to tear than the paper, so you can pull your threads as tight as you want without having to worry about deforming holes or ripping. We also expect the PVC to be more resistant to decay and yellowing.
All in all, while (like many in the community) we were originally hesitant about this change, our first impressions have been very positive.

from Canada on 06/03/2023 - Mill Hill Sleighs All of the Mill Hill Sleighs are stunning. I prefer to stitch them on 28ct Lugana fabric. I them send them out to be professionally finished and give them as ornament gifts at Christmas. The kits are more than generous with supplies and are easily stitched up. And with a company like 123 to supply you, you can’t ask for better.

from United States on 10/19/2017 - Sleigh Ride I purchased all 6 of these and this is the first one I did--I am now working on the 4th one and will have that done shortly. Very easy to do and instructions are easy to follow as usual with these kits.
from United States on 10/10/2017 had more than enough beads and thread. loved the beading needle. I did not use the paper since it is tiny and I did not want to hold it in my hands. I stitched it on fabric so I did not use that needle.
