C. Moulton 1877 is a reproduction of a 19th century cross stitch sampler from the private collection of Whilst Iris Naps Designs.
The pattern stitch count is 95 x 90 and our model is stitched using 1 strand floss over 2 linen threads on 40ct 'Old Stationery' by Seraphim Fabrics. We have used an Au Ver Soie (Soie d'Alger) silk for our reproduction but provide a suggestion for conversion to DMC in the chart. The design area on 40ct fabric measures approximately 4 3/4 x 4 1/2 inches (12.1 x 11.4 cm).
Model stitched one over two on 32 Ct. Straw linen using Classic Colorworks, Gentle Art Sampler Threads and Weeks Dye Works. Stitch Count: 141W x 139H. Design Size: 8.81" x 8.68"

This is a revised version of an old design (#113). The original 2015 design has been out of print and I decided to rework it. JABC buttons are included. A cardinal is perched atop a basket of winterberry leaves berries.
