This was a lovely fabric to stitch on, but I found out that this is actually *not* 100% cotton as listed in the description. I found Zweigart's official catalog and they list it as 50% cotton/50% modal, which is what gives it such a soft and smooth texture. I just want future customers to be aware, in case this is important in their decision making for their fabric choices.

I just started a new project on this fabric and it's sooo nice! It's very soft and smooth, and the weave is very sturdy and consistent. I've stitched on linen a few times but I'm enjoying this much more, and I find it easier to count as well. I wish there were more options for both the count and color.

I love evenweave, I also love 40ct so this was right up my ally. I did rit dye this fabric and it turned out better than I imagined. It did not shrink it, it held color perfectly. I loved every stitch on this fabric! It was buttery smooth, easy to see, has a fantastic drape. This was just a tiny piece so I ordered a large piece for an upcoming large project. I wish this came in colors, that's my only complaint.

I ordered the 40 count white verdal evenweave 13x18. Great price and just beautiful. It came with all sides "stitched up," so there will be no fraying. I use it for cross-stitch, I stitch over two, so it's actually 20 count. What isn't stitched looks like linen instead of AIDA cloth. Thank you so much for this. I will be using this 40 count for many other projects. I love your store!!!! I get all my floss from you guys, even if it's just 2 or 3 colors that I'm missing.

Verdal is a gorgeous evenweave, my only wish would be that it came in various colors. Have stitched with this fabric for quite a while, and very happy with my choice

I am using a higher count evenweave for full coverage and appreciate how easy this fabric is to work with, over 1 or over 2.

I have used Verdal a lot for my cross stitch projects, it is easy to work with and has a great weight, my only wish is that it would come in various colors

First of all love that this fabric is 100 percent cotton, as I sometimes paint watercolor and/or watered down acrylic paint backgrounds for embroidery designs. Poly/cotton blends don't do as well for this, as the fiber blend doesn't absorb the colors as well, so they are much more muted. This fabric is so very soft, a lovely crisp white color, and the openings are easily seen. That said, it is a dense enough weave for embroidery. Very happy with this fabric!
